CTE Spangles Night #thrivein375

Remote week has started and the children are doing such a great job!!! The teachers and I have enjoyed seeing everyone on screen. I hope it’s working for all of you too!

First graders put their finishing touches to their decorations to their (future) stuffed gingerbread people today with the help of the librarians. The personalities really show on this art activity!

The kindergarten reindeer drawings are always a favorite of mine! This years’ group of reindeer certainly didn’t disappoint!
Sorry they weren’t all up at the photo time. Cute, cute, cute!

Fourth grade worked on creating a Rube Goldberg machine last week. This is a plan where the students intentionally designed a machine that would perform a simple task. Rube Goldberg was an American cartoonist who often drew out plans for these types of machines to perform these simple tasks in an OVERLY complicated way. It was fun to watch the students as they worked through their plans to create their own Rube Goldberg machine.

First grade reading groups enjoyed the beautiful day today by doing their reading outside. Each group had the opportunity to be outside to read and work inside during their rotations.

Remote students within an in-person classroom. Sometimes teachers just make it look easy when we all know it’s not!

Fifth grade explored breakout rooms with both classes at the same time. Technology is absolutely amazing!

So many great things are happening in our classrooms. The students are all busy working, some with programs and others in small groups, to improve their skills.

Mr LaMunyon got into the spirit by using gel to change his hair color too! It is not rainbow like mine, but it did make a difference! Thanks to all of you who supported Mom’s Pantry with your donation this month!

One of the many fun things going on in school today is the students sitting ON their desks for a rousing game of Canadian Jeopardy! The students have been learning about Canada and had the opportunity to show off their knowledge. There were lots of giggles about the Big____ question!

Sixth grade loved the opportunity to do some logic problems in math. We have found it difficult to introduce a new concept during a short week prior to a holiday. Mr Krahn offered the students several logic problems instead. Most students loved the sudoku puzzles. They requested more after experiencing the puzzles earlier this year.
Mrs Seivley continued working on pronouns. Students had to identify proper usage of pronouns. The improper usage made me cringe! Great job sixth grade! #thrivein375

Circle Towanda Elementary students did an AMAZING job raising funds for Mom’s Pantry. Our goal was to raise $500 but in the end, we donated $1,575 to the cause! Mrs Linda Pierce was so thankful and wished to express her gratitude for the blessing. Thank you everyone for your help with this!

I’m starting to see the work from our students from Veteran’s Day last week. Here are some amazing portraits done by our kindergarteners. Please enjoy!

The sight word practice in kindergarten is just plain fun. The students really know the words and appear to love moving to them as well!

Happy Veteran’s Day! Thank you to all who are serving or those who have served for our country. We appreciate your generosity! Thank you from all of us at CTE!

Don't forget to come support CTE at Spangles tonight in El Dorado from 5pm-8pm. We will get 20% of the sales when you mention our school! #thrivein375

Fifth grade teachers preparing to move to the other teachers’ classrooms. Their cheerful attitude really help the students stay upbeat and learning. #thrivein375

Last year, it would have been an odd sight to see a teacher talking to her computer in the middle of the hallway, but not this year. Thanks to remote options, we often see some different things going on.
Mrs. Anderson was assisting a remote student in the hallway to allow her students in class less interruption. It would have seemed odd in the past, but not today.
