It’s a wacky Wednesday here at the elementary school! Several of Mrs. Cerney’s kindergartners were enjoying the beautiful weather in their wacky, mixed up clothes for the day.
Both schools participated in the Statewide tornado drill today. Each group of students ran their own drill around the ten o’clock. The students were very responsible during the drill. Great job children!!!
Preschool students enjoyed their small group with Mr R learning about recycling.

We have been in school 100 days!! Students have asked if they’re ready for the next grade because we’ve been in school 100 days! They know that they are 100 days smarter than before. It’s always an exciting day, it was just done a little bit different this year.
Wednesday 2-17: Due to several factors involving weather. 7-12 will be REMOTE, PreK-6 NO SCHOOL. Meals will be served. Food Box Distribution will continue as scheduled in the HS parking lot at 11:00.
TUESDAY 2-16: Due to inclement weather. 7-12 will be REMOTE, PreK-6 NO SCHOOL. No meals will be served.

Just a reminder, we have added an in service day this month. On Friday, February 12th, we will not have school. This is in addition to the Monday, February 15th day, that was already scheduled. Please mark your calendars!!

Our kindergarten students are mastering letter sounds and creating sight words! They practice by playing Bingo, working with the Letter People, flash card review, Lexia, and even making the letters with their bodies. All in a days FUN work!
STEM project? Not really... recess activity? Yes!! We have a few builders at the Primary School who have begun excavating large rocks to build a wall around our playground tree! There has been a bit of frustration though. Other students didn’t realize the work that others had invested in the project and they often dismantle the progress. You can still see the hard work so far. This just made me smile! #thrivein375
The technological advances that we have experienced this year are absolutely amazing! Students learning remotely and in person are able to be in the same classroom at the same time!
Today is a great day to have a great day! There’s a lot going on in the classrooms... reading silently, reading a “cold” read (a story they’ve never read before), or putting words in ABC order, it’s a great day for a great day!
Walking the hallways at school always makes me smile!
