Dear CHS Parents and Guardians,
Here are the updated plans for our Graduation Line Up Ceremony that will be held on July 26th. We understand that this ceremony is not what we all wanted to see happen for our graduating Seniors. However, current COVID infection rates and the guidance from local health departments have made an in-person ceremony impossible. Please read this document carefully so we can ensure everyone's safety. In close conversation with our current Senior Advisory Group, it was determined that this method of celebration was the best option moving forward.
There will be two separate groups and times for the graduates to receive their diploma.
Last name A-K will be from 10:30 am- 12:30 pm and last name of L-Z will be from 1:30 pm. - 3:30 pm. Please do not arrive prior to your scheduled time to avoid overlap of crowds.
Each graduate will be allowed two vehicles in the line-up. We encourage our graduates to decorate their cars if they choose. Please make sure you line up with both of your cars at the same time to make sure all of your family makes it to the stage at the same time.
When families arrive for their designated times our SRO officers will direct the graduates where to line up in front of the Northside of the auditorium. Please enter the far East entrance by Dustrol when you arrive. There will be people directing you when you arrive.
It is very important that all people remain in their vehicles in the line-up. We do not want to violate current safety guidance from the County and local health experts.
Once the time of each session begins you will be directed to drive through the circle drive (bus drop off spot) and proceed to the small parking lot in front of the Main Office. Once there an SRO officer will admit each graduate and their accompanying vehicle to drive to the flagpole area in front of the Main Office where the graduation stage will be set up.
The graduate and parents/or guardians will exit the vehicle and the graduate will proceed to the stage where they will receive their diploma. Those individuals in the vehicle are welcome to roll the windows down and cheer for each grad as they receive their diploma. In order to maintain safety, only the graduate and immediate parents or guardians are allowed to exit the vehicle in front of the stage.
Once each graduate receives their diploma they will exit the stage and move down the sidewalk for a picture in front of a backdrop.
Graduates and parents/guardians will return to their vehicle and exit the campus.

In an effort to best plan our drive up graduation we need to know how many graduates are planning on attending. Please complete this short survey to help us assure graduation is planned to the best of our abilities under these circumstances. This event will be in a car line process which will not allow extended family to get out of the vehicle when the graduate walks the stage. Each graduate is allowed two vehicles, the event will be live-streamed so more friends and family can watch. We will release a much more detailed plan about the exact process later this week. GRADUATES OR PARENTS OF GRADUATES PLEASE COMPLETE THIS AS SOON AS POSSIBLE.

To Circle Families and Students,
I am unfortunately writing this letter to inform you that due to the elevated risk of COVID 19 in our community we are canceling our in-person graduation ceremony on July 26th at 1: 30 pm. This is a deeply saddening decision for our Administration and Senior Advisory Group to have to make. We came to this conclusion after taking advice from the local health departments and medical professionals.
This was an extremely difficult decision to make, but we believe it is in the best interest of our Circle Community. The safety and security of our students and staff are paramount to us. We could not in good faith move forward with a large in-person gathering without putting people’s safety at risk.
Our Senior Advisory Group and our Administration are currently working on another option that will be communicated to the community by the end of next week. We envision some form of “Graduate Car Line” that will allow a graduate and their families to drive up to a set stage and with guidance walk across the stage to receive a diploma. We will provide a much more detailed plan in the coming days. We will keep our date of July 26th for this new option.
Sincerely,
Matthew J. Carroll
Tony Holguin
John Coslett

Circle Students may return to our summer activities Tuesday July 14th as long as no symptoms are present within 72 hours of July 14th. Please monitor students for symptoms and fevers.
This duration is due to the symptom incubation period of 14 days from June 30th.

Due to the possible indirect exposure to a person infected with COVID 19 with some of our student athletes, Circle High School is temporarily halting all voluntary workouts until further notice. The health and well being of our students are a top priority!

I wanted to write you a letter and update you on a few important topics. As you are certainly aware the last four months have been quite interesting and full of challenges. I want you to know we are working behind the scenes on numerous plans for the upcoming school year. I’m sure you are like me and would love to have school return to “normal” in the Fall. At this time, I don’t know what the final plan for August looks like. The Governor will release some guidelines for schools to follow on July 10th and our District has a team of people ready to meet shortly after that to begin implementing these guidelines in the best manner to suite the Circle community. I want to insure you that whatever form the upcoming school year takes our staff is committed to providing a quality education to your child. Here are a few updates on a few various topics:
Graduation- At this time, we are moving forward with an in-person graduation ceremony on July 26 at 1:30 pm. in the Circle High Main Gym. As we have stated previously the in-person ceremony is contingent on the most recent health guidelines from the State and the Butler County Health Department. If we are directed to make changes to the in-person ceremony, we do have a backup graduation plan to fall back on that will have a virtual component. If a student does not have a graduation gown and hat they may contact Jostens and order one. The number for Jostens is 620-232-7464. A gown and hat are required to participate in graduation.
In an effort to respect the health and well-being of our community we have determined that there will be a total of 6 guests per graduate. We will have instructions on how the tickets can be acquired within the next week.
Graduation practice- We will hold a graduation practice for all those students participating on July 24 at 9 AM. in the Circle High Gym. This is only for students and staff.
Enrollment- Online enrollment for students returning to Circle High begins on July 27. Enrollment for new students attending Circle High for the first time begins on August 3 in the Main Office of the high school. Once again if the current Covid infection rates do not improve there could be some adjustments to the in person enrollment plan.
I hope this provided a little clarity on a few important subjects. At any time you have a question don’t hesitate to contact me at mcarroll@usd375.org.

Please take a moment and fill out the parent survey. We value your feedback.

We have been made aware of some very derogatory social media posts that have been going around that are harmful and hateful. I am writing you this email to let you know that we are aware of the situation and we are working to try to solve it to the best of our ability. Circle High School obviously does not condone this behavior and we respect the dignity of all people.
Thank you
Mr. Carroll
