John Bumm, New CMS Assistant Principal

We are pleased to announce the recent hire of John Bumm, who will join the district as the new assistant principal and athletic director of Circle Middle School for the 22-23 school year.

Bumm comes to USD 375 from Remington High School with 20 years of experience in education including teaching English, debate, & forensics, and coaching basketball, track, and cross country. He also served as chair of Remington’s high school improvement team for the last four years—helping lead USD 206 through KSDE Redesign.

Bumm received his Bachelor of Arts in English from Pittsburg State University; a Master’s in Curriculum and Instruction from Wichita State; and a Building Leadership certification from Fort Hays State University.

Bumm and his wife, Martina, have been married for twenty years and have three boys. Jim (17) and Luke (17) will be seniors next year, and Gabe (13) will be in eighth grade. They enjoy traveling, movies, and sports—especially the Chiefs and Royals.

“I am both grateful and excited to start my administrative career as the assistant principal and athletic director at Circle Middle School. I look forward to building relationships with students, staff, and the community and helping continue the good work that is already going on in USD 375.”

Welcome, Mr. Bumm!
