George Strecker, Velocity Fan of the Week

Circle High School’s Fan of the Week is Mr. George Strecker!

George works as Senior Crude Oil Representative at Plains All American.

Originally from Lakin, Kansas, George and his wife of 26 years, Dee Dee, have made Benton and the Circle District their home.  George and Dee Dee raised their daughters, Anna and Reagan, as part of the Circle family.  Anna is now 21 and studying Nursing at Butler Community College.  Reagan is an 18-year-old freshman at Fort Hays State University.  George credits the strong foundation and numerous opportunities provided by the Circle District for much of the confidence and success his daughters are experiencing in their lives since graduating from Circle High.

Though golf and gardening are just a few ways George enjoys his free time, it is no secret that supporting Circle Activities through his involvement with the Circle Booster Club is really where his heart is!  Along with a group of other passionate Circle fans, George was an instrumental advocate and leader in the revitalization and reorganization of the Circle Booster Club.  His enthusiasm for the Circle District and Circle Activities has led to a thriving Circle Booster Club that is responsible for aiding in the purchase of new drum heads for the Circle High band, an infield tarp for the Circle High softball field, a medic table used by the Athletic Trainer during athletic events, the new record board in the gymnasium at Circle High School, a high jump pit for the Circle High track team, a 5-man blocking sled for the Circle High football team, a percussion station for the Circle High band, a 10-person buzzer system for the Circle High scholars bowl team, approximately $5000 annually to Circle Middle School, and the purchase of the fantastic new duds for the Circle District’s very own Thor!

Those who have attended Benton Days may have been able to sneak a peek at George serving the Circle District as “pancake chef extraordinaire” during the Booster Club Breakfast.  He’s also known as the “grill master” for the annual Booster Club Steak Feed and can motivate any bidder to go above and beyond while participating in the annual Night Out at Northstone Booster event!

George sees to it that everyone has the opportunity to THRIVE IN 375.
