2022 KANSAS TEACHER OF THE YEAR NOMINEE, ALLISON NORRIS HOSTS FELLOW NOMINEES ON TOUR OF CIRCLE PUBLIC SCHOOLS

On April 26th,  schools around the district hosted a Kansas Teacher of the Year (KTOY) Nominee group led by Circle Greenwich Elementary teacher, Allison Norris. The visit showcased district programs, facilities, and ended with a student panel at CGE.

Norris, who was named the Circle Publics School Primary Teacher of the Year for 2020-2021 recently gave us insight into her KTOY experience.

How were you nominated for Kansas Teacher of the Year?

"I was nominated by my principal, Mr. Razey."

What experiences have been made possible because of KTOY?

"The KTOY experience has been so rewarding! I have had the opportunity to meet so many incredible teachers throughout the state of Kansas. Visiting their schools and districts has provided me with learning opportunities and different ideas to help me grow as an educator. "

After spending time at other schools, what stands out to you about USD 375?

"Spending time in other districts across the state has shown me that the Circle School District is showing up for our students. We are thriving! The opportunities, programs, support, and relationships we are offering our students and families make me proud to be a T-Bird!"

What are you excited to share with your fellow KTOY nominees?

"Our district is so special! We have so many exciting things to be able to showcase! Our growth, our building projects, our facilities, PLC opportunities, our push for literacy, Social Emotional Support, and our Thrivein375 culture are just a few of the things I wanted to be sure to share about our amazing district!"

What would you like to do with your KTOY experience?

"I am so honored to be a part of this process. I am so blessed to teach in a building and district where I am constantly surrounded by the best teachers, support staff, kids, parents, and administrators that truly care about kids! I would like to use the ideas and the collaboration opportunities I have had to help move our district forward and continue to help us Thrivein375! "

Thank you, Mrs. Norris, for all you do for Circle Public Schools and the students of Circle Greenwich Elementary!
