Circle Middle School Parent / Guardian,
The College & Career Ready Program will be hosting a Reality U event on February 16th for all sophomores and 8th graders. 8th graders will be transported to Circle High School to participate in one of two sessions of Reality U. Reality U is an exercise that helps youth understand some of the “realities” involved in preparing for an employable future and adulthood. The goals of Reality U are to show teens that their performance in school today will affect their future, and give teens a chance to learn and practice personal finance skills in a fun way.
Community volunteers will help staff 13 booths at Reality U. These booths include housing, transportation, child care, and ten other booths that students will visit to make purchases based on their income. Volunteers will be responsible for assisting students with their purchases.
