CHS Cheerleaders participated in UCA Cheer Camp held at Butler Community College July 6-9. The squad spent 4 days learning new material, doing team-building activities, and being evaluated as a team for their cheer, chant, and dance performances.
Coaches Patton and Willhite "were extremely proud of the team & the great improvement they showed over the time at camp. The hard work and determination they put into camp paid off when the 19 girl team received a 1st place trophy in the area of Spirit and Crowd Leading and a 2nd place trophy in Crowd Leading."
Coach Willhite went on to say that "she and Coach Patton are very excited about the skill level, willingness to jump in and learn new stunts and materials and execute them at a high level. We're looking forward to this team stepping up to lead our school and crowd in BIG ways this year."
The team consisted of 6 Seniors: Bethanie Goldsmith, April Patton (captains), Savannah Engels, Sage Dutton, Malia Iseman & Caris Mosier. 4 Juniors: Addi Soper, Emily Son, Brooklynn Hawkins, Brooklyn Terrones. 2 Sophomores: Gabby Walker, & Annie Chen. And 7 incoming Freshman: Skylor Henry, Carlee Goldsmith, Ivy Patton, Riley Bump, Natalya Christie, and Madison & Arabella Waldmeier.
