Board Meeting Information

Regularly scheduled Board of Education meetings are held at 6 p.m. on the second Monday of each month at the district office. Meetings in September, November, and February are held at school campuses on a rotating basis.

School Board Meeting In-Person Public Comments

Procedures to Address the Board During Public Comments

  • Print your name on the sign-up sheet and list the topic of your presentation prior to the meeting being called to order.

  • Visit with the Board Clerk verifying your intent to address the Board.

  • The sign-up sheet will be given to the Board President by the Board Clerk at the beginning of the meeting.

  • The Board President will call each person on the sign-up sheet during the public comments portion of the agenda.

  • State your name and summarize your concerns/suggestions based on the guidelines. Limit your presentation to approximately 5 minutes.

Guidelines for Public Comments

  • To be eligible to provide public comments to the Board. participants should be signed in and visit with the Board clerk prior to the meeting being called to order.

  • Any person wishing to address the Board in public forum must sign up on the attached sign-up sheet. The presiding officer of the public meeting will moderate the public comments.

  • As a courtesy and as a part of the public record, each speaker should identify themselves with their name. Each speaker will be allowed five (5) minutes to address the Board. The Board may engage the speaker for clarification of the issue.

  • The Board will not debate past decisions made by the current governing body or any past governing body.

  • The Board seeks only constructive criticisms and suggestions.

  • The Board will only allow one speaker at a time and a proper decorum will be enforced. If a group is present for the same topic, the group is encouraged to appoint a speaker for the group.

  • Engaging in active debate with the Board or anyone in the audience will not be allowed.

  • All remarks and suggestions must be respectful and courteous, free of name calling and/or personal attacks.

  • No remarks will be allowed that contain vulgarities or inappropriate language.

  • No speakers may have the floor more than one time until all who wish to speak have been given the opportunity. The presiding officer will determine the order of speakers.

  • All comments must be directed to the Board as a whole, not to any specific member or to any person who is not a Board member.
