Our summer Driver Education program helps students gain the knowledge, skills and experience needed to become safe, responsible drivers.

 

Circle Public Schools offers a summer Driver Education course for eligible students. The program includes classroom instruction and behind-the-wheel driving experience.

  • Location: Circle High School
  • Class Dates: June 1–12, 2026 (Monday–Friday)
  • Class Time: 8:00–11:00 a.m.
  • Driving Practice: Scheduled throughout the summer

Students will receive an individual driving schedule after the course begins.

Before You Enroll: Important Permit Information

We strongly recommend students obtain a farm permit or instructional permit as soon as they turn 14.

Why this matters:

  • Kansas law requires students to hold a permit for at least one full year before receiving a restricted license at age 15
  • Getting a permit early helps avoid delays in licensing

Eligibility

To enroll in Driver Education, students must meet one of the following:

  • Be 15 years old by June 1, OR
  • Have completed their freshman year

Students not currently enrolled in a high school program may participate if:

  • They are eligible for a Kansas driver’s license
  • Space is available

Program Cost

  • District Residents / CHS Students: $175
  • Non-Residents: $250

Course cost includes:

  • Book rental
  • Driving permit

Checks should be made payable to CHS.

Enrollment Deadline

All enrollment forms and fees are due by April 30.

Course Expectations

To successfully complete the program, students must:

  • Earn 80% or higher on all tests
  • Complete all driving lessons with 80% or higher proficiency

Scheduling Notes

Driving lesson schedules will vary throughout the summer.

Because of the number of students participating, schedule conflicts may occur. We appreciate your flexibility and understanding as we work to provide all students with driving opportunities.

  • Return both to CHS by April 30
