This course will offer an in-depth study of basic drawing principles. Students will work in a variety of monochromatic media, including graphite, charcoal, and ink pen. Students will also be introduced to color through the creation of a color wheel. Students will work directly from student models, local landscapes, and original photographs. Additionally, we will begin a formal study of the elements and principles of art, artists' styles, current jobs in the field of visual arts, and the visual process of critique.
