Students enrolled in Human Growth and Development will realize what it means to be a parent or caregiver. They will learn how to ensure a child's proper development, and how to promote physical, intellectual, emotional and social development from birth to pre-school age. This knowledge will be applied to design activities that are age and developmentally appropriate for children. Students will explore issues in balancing work and family, and examine ways to problem solve in today's society.
This class is for both males and females who plan to become parents or caregivers, who plan to pursue a career involving children, or who just enjoy being around children.
