Honors American History includes a review of early American history and continues to present day. First semester topics include the foundations of our country and government, Civil War Reconstruction, and the late 1800s-early 1900s. Second-semester topics include a review of WWI, the Roaring Twenties, the Great Depression, a review of WWII, an emphasis on the Cold War era, and the Civil Rights Movement. The pace of this course will progress more quickly and in more depth than a regular American History course and include more extensive work in reading and writing. Students must earn a “C” in Honors American History during first semester in order to continue in the class second semester.
