Students will improve their techniques and individual style in poetry and short story writing. The emphasis of this course is writing, but students will also read and discuss the works of a variety of writers in order to obtain a fuller appreciation of the creative writing process. This is a great course to take to improve abilities in brainstorming, generating new ideas, critiquing person writing and that of classmates, and accepting feedback for improvement. Students must be willing to share their works with classmates and explore publication options. Creative Writing also provides an excellent opportunity for students to hone their skills in grammar and punctuation.
