English II includes further work in reading, writing, listening, speaking, and researching. Students will compose, revise and edit their own writing, using the 6+ I Trait Writ-ing Model as a guide. The process of producing quality writing through the writing process is the emphasis. A research paper is required. This course also includes a survey of the various literary genres of world literature including the short story, biography, autobiography, Shakespearean drama, essays, poetry, and the novel. Students will continue to study fictional elements, basic themes, author styles, and the basic elements of analysis and interpretation of literature.
