This course will emphasize design principles relative to three-dimensional space. The student will spend the majority of the semester working with clay, utilizing traditional hand-building techniques. Students will draw, design, and construct a variety of functional and non-functional vessels. Additionally, we will begin a formal study of the Elements and Principles of Art, the study of current and past artists' styles, current careers in the visual arts field, and the visual process of critique. Student shows and guest artists will be a part of our semester of study.
