Weekly Update for November 5th - 11th.

Weekly (late ☹️) Update for November 5th - 11th. Sometimes life just happens!!! So here we go for this week.

All of the students received a quick reminder from Mrs. Young of the importance of Rachel's Challenges and the "Power of SEE". We tend to take for granted that word- but when we break it down it is a very powerful action. We need to take time to truly SEE each other for the good. If we don't take time to do this, we take away the stories that each person is writing. Please encourage your student to come home and say something positive about another person. Getting into the habit of doing so allows each of us to make complementing someone else a natural behavior.

Veterans Assembly is tomorrow for our students during late start time. Our own Mr. Smithwick and Officer Ray will be speaking to our students regarding their time in service for our country. We will also welcome the American Legion riders as our special guests. We will go live several times throughout 8:10- 9:15 with the riders, speakers and presentation of colors by Benton Boy Scouts.

7th grade will be going on their first field trip of the year on Wednesday to experience a Hockey game and STEM activities. The students will be leaving following the assembly. Information was emailed to parents last week.

8th grade will be going to CHS on Wednesday afternoon for the dress rehearsal of "Once Upon a Mattress" which is the retelling of the Princess and the Pea. This production will be presented on Friday, Saturday and Sunday. Please check the district calendar for times. A small fee will be charged for admission.

Friday is our CMS Social 3:30 - 5:15. Students that are attending need to bring $2.00 to the office for the ticket. We are having several options for students to participate in: Pop Art, Origami, Board games, Movie, Dance, Open Gym, Bingo and a few others. If you would like to volunteer please contact Mrs. Cross- scross@usd375.org. We can use help. AND Thank you for those that have already agreed to come help. Students that are staying will be transported to their base elementary schools following the Social where they will need to be picked up. OR your student can be picked up here at CMS by 5:15- 5:30.
