As we adventure into Rachel's Challenges with our late start lessons on self care and mindfulness with kindness, we are going to have courageous conversations that celebrate and educate students about the beauty of diversity and cultures different than one's own. The topics of diversity and culture span a wide variety of definitions. With Circle Schools being situated between two cities- Wichita to the west and El Dorado to the east, we have a very unique and wonderful opportunity to draw attention to a vast amount of diversity and celebrate a wide variety of cultures. We will work with the students on developing a working definition of diversity and culture and examine how we can look at and relate to others who are different in areas that are visible and not so visible. We want CMS to be place where all students can come and learn and not be presented with roadblocks caused by a lack of understanding with regards to the precious opportunities that are presented with these topics. Here are Rachel's Challenges that we will use base our conversations and lessons on.

1) Look for the Best in Others

2) Dream Big

3) Choose Positive Influences

4) Speak with Kindness

5) Start your Own Chain Reaction
