Description: The Circle yearbook captures the school year in writing and photographs. Besides serving as a history book (in one book the reader can find out who were in the plays, who was the homecoming royalty and how the sports seasons went), the yearbook is an educational tool providing students with opportunities to learn and practice layout skills, copy writing, selling and constructing ads and photography. Digital photography is emphasized. The CHS yearbook has earned top state and national honors and staff members have received yearbook scholarships from schools such as Butler, Emporia State, K-State, and KU. Yearbook staff members create a 144 page book utilizing reporting, writing, photography, and design skills. Advertising sales are not required, but strongly encouraged. Students are encouraged to enter contests, which Circle won in the past.

Cost: $10.00

Membership Requirements: Freshmen may enroll in Publication Design class. Students in the class are not required but strongly encourage to sell advertising. Freshmen may take 21st Century Journalism (English credit) and/or Digital Media Technology (elective credit) to prepare them for the yearbook and newspaper staffs.
