Mr. Burgess grew up in Haysville, KS. He is the 4th of eight children. He has four sisters and three brothers. Mr. B, as many know him, went to Bishop Carroll High School and then Wichita State University where he received both his Bachelors and Masters Degrees. From 1982 – 1983, Mr. B traveled with an international group called “Up With People.” He currently resides in Wichita with his wife and two children (ages 10 and 12). Mr. B came to Benton Grade School seven years ago because of the feeling of community and family that we live by in Benton. Aside from being our wonderful principal at BGS, Mr. Burgess also directs the choir at his church, plays guitar, water skis, camps, and loves bluegrass, classic rock, and jazz. He would also love to visit Ireland some day. “It takes a village to raise a child” is Mr. B’s favorite saying, and he instills that idea into everyone who knows him. |
