For our first FAB Day this year, everyone
made a tie dyed shirt to wear on FAB day the rest of the year. Each
‘family’ chose their colors and FAB Family name. There was a lot of
creativity shining through as we began to ‘dye’. We had a lot of fun and
learned how to work together with others that may have different ideas.
The variety of color choices and patterns really showed how one idea can
go in so many different directions. The students are encouraged to wear
their shirts on FAB days.
Curious about what FAB is all about? FAB leaders are made
up of the principal, the counselor, teachers, paras, and aides. Each
leader has students from different grade levels. There are
approximately 9 to 10 students in each family. The members of a family
stay the same from year to year with the exception of the addition of
kindergarten students and the loss of former 6th grade
students. The families get together every month but March.Families get
together for two hours on FAB days. The members participate in several
fun activities and eat lunch together. The school lunches on FAB days
are always sack lunches.
FAB is beneficial to each member of a
family. Adults and students that would not normally interact, have the
opportunity to spend time together and develop a bond through shared
activities. Family members exhibit a sense of comfort upon seeing each
other in the halls. They are encouraged to be supportive of one
another. Please ask your child to share FAB day experiences. We look
forward to a wonderful year with our FAB families.
