The cost of the bond is $37.12 million.
What will it cost me?
The tax impact will be $6.60 more per month on a
$100,000 home.
When will the bond Expire?
All bonds are scheduled to be retired by 2031.
What Projects are included in the bond request?
The January 29th, 2013 bond request will
fund a New Circle High School (while maintaining the existing performing art,
auxiliary gymnasium and a large portion of the existing parking lots), expansion
and renovations to Circle Oil Hill Elementary, and heating and cooling upgrades
at Circle Benton Elementary and Circle Towanda Intermediate.
Why is the district proposing to build a new high
school?
The building has served the district well over the
past 50 years but with major electrical, mechanical systems and structural
challenges, the cost of renovation has reached a point where it is more cost
effective to replace the largest portion of the complex and while maintaining
the performing arts and supplemental gymnasium. Currently Circle High School is
the oldest High School building in use within the 24 school districts that make
up the Ark Valley/Chisholm trail league.
Why is the district proposing to renovate and
expand Circle Oil Hill?
Currently Circle Oil Hill is at capacity and out of
space. The proposed bond would create more classroom, library, cafeteria, and
safe room space. Additionally it would eliminate the need for portables. Heating
and cooling would also be installed in the gymnasium and would be improved
throughout the building.
If the Bond passes when would Circle High School
and Circle Oil Hill be completed?
If the bond passes in January 2013 construction would
start soon thereafter and would be completed in phases. Heating and cooling
systems would be installed in Circle Benton Elementary and Circle Towanda
Intermediate during the summer of 2013. The estimated completion date of all
projects is fall of 2016.
When was the last bond issue?
The last bond issue was 6 years ago and produced
improvements to the middle school, a new elementary school, heating and cooling
improvements in classroom areas at each of the existing elementary schools, and
a recreation complex for baseball and softball.
